Wishable – the smart Savings-Assistent

Sparkasse Paderborn-Detmold has been a solid and reliable part of the region for more than 230 years. It impresses with a balance sheet total of 6.8 billion euros as a strong local partner. As a strong financial institution, Sparkasse Paderborn-Detmold is happy to fulfill its social responsibility. In 2017, it supported over 865 projects in the social, sporting, educational and cultural sectors with more than EUR 1 million. 1,314 employees and 86 apprentices (as of 31.12.2017) benefit from an attractive workplace in their Sparkassen. 

The origin of the Braunschweigische Landessparkasse is already 250 years ago. In its present form, it is a company of the Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale, which was formed in 1970 by the merger of the previously independent financial institutions Niedersächsische Landesbank – Girozentrale – and Braunschweigische Staatsbank, including Braunschweigische LandessparkasseHannoversche Landeskreditanstalt and Niedersächsische Wohnungskreditanstalt – StadtschaftBraunschweigische Landessparkasse is represented by 842 employees and 107 trainees at around 100 locations and manages a customer volume of more than 11 billion euros. Today, BLSK acts as a Sparkasse with a pronounced community affiliation and its own market presence. 

Background to wishable

wishable is a virtual piggy bank that motivates to accomplish specific saving goals – e.g. Vacation, new sofa or laptop – by individual saving recommendations. Core of wishable is our account analysis: a budget statement provides information about income and expenditure broken down by categories.

Best of all: A forecast shows how much money will be left at the end of the month – calculated from past spendings. Intelligent algorithms recognize potential savings and visualize them to the user. Thanks to these individual saving recommendations, wishable users can fulfill their wishes faster.

Implementation at the two Sparkassen

Since September 2018, wishable has been available exclusively to customers of Braunschweigische Landesbank and Sparkasse Paderborn-Detmold. The idea for wishable was developed together with Sparkassen employees at the Sparkassen Innovation Hub. About half a year, fino and the Sparkasse have worked closely together to offer the customer a smart savings assistant. In addition to deepening customer loyalty, wishable also promotes a more conscious use of their own financial resources. In addition, there is a feature within the app to complete an instant loan with cashpresso.
